Description:   Trees! They started sacrificing their lives for us, ages before when we were known as hominids, They provided foods, clothes, shelters and fire to light up our so-called civilization, then they gave us papyrus to write our story, which now is history. Even earlier to this, nature started to etch its remarks on trees. The growth rings in the trunks turned into biorhythms of our earth, it memorized and preserved the impact of seasonally changing temperature, rainfall and other climatic changes in a living tree for a few thousand years. When the civilized humans started to fly, climatic changes became drastically unstable. Due to human interferences like deforestation and greedy consumption, the original writings on trees became complicated. We need supernormal eyes to see the pictograph on the tree barks now, a light-sensitive instrument to capture it, and an empathic heart to create and depict it as an art form for humans to understand. Here, I am not a creator; in fact, by rewriting the laws a lot, I invite you to see an unnatural incident. My work narrates a tree’s life through 26 monumental frames, froze on tree barks. The essay starts with a fossilized gliding seed named Soul in a womb then flows through lyrical titles such as Sprouting angels, Seeing greater apes, Confronting a strange being, Warmth of a Pith, When the axe shines, Conquering termites, Leaf in a labyrinth, Human claws… to the last one - Soul holocaust. Nature has applied almost all modern and contemporary art techniques to transmute these messages onto their raw canvas. Therefore we do not require any digital post-processing to manipulate its precise language. Hues n Barks zooms on the natural strokes seen on tree barks. It is an attempt to glow a light before the thunderous axe falls on it – Uday Hue.
